BACKGROUND

Lucy Gray is a member of the Covey, a group of nomadic artists that traveled across Panem. When the rebellion ended in favor of the Capitol, the fences came down and the Covey was stuck in District 12. In an effort to destroy their way of life, the adults of the Covey were murdered, and the children left to fend for themselves. Covey value music, family, and color.
When she was 16, Lucy Gray was reaped for the 10th Annual Hunger Games, (a move that was orchestrated by her rival and her ex's current girlfriend, Mayfair Lipp) and was paired with future president Coriolanus Snow in the first Mentor program. Thanks to him, Lucy Gray won her Hunger Games, and was able to return to District 12.
